EFF to Open Fraud Case Against Eastern Cape Premier Oscar Mabuyane By Noko Maleka | Insight Jozi News The Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) has announced that it will open a criminal case of fraud against Eastern Cape Premier, Oscar Mabuyane, over allegations relating to his academic qualifications and his enrolment at the University of Fort Hare. In a statement issued on 24 June 2026, the EFF alleged that Mabuyane fraudulently enrolled for a Master of Administration degree and later attempted to gain admission into a PhD programme under the alleged false representation that he held the required Master's qualification. The party said it intends to formally open the criminal case at the kuGompo Police Station on Thursday, 25 June 2026.
